Got a tip? How about a script?

Hey guys! As you may know, we’ve got a section in our Community called Tips and Scripts – it allows you to basically hack your way into oblivion with scripts that you can use to further customize your landing page. Some of it is provided by our badass team of code wizards here at Unbounce, but maybe you (yes, you) have come up with a script that allowed you to add some functionality to your site that wasn’t already in the page builder. You’re all so crafty, so I thought I’d give this opportunity to see if anyone here wants to share some of their ideas. Feel free to chime into this thread if you want to share some of your awesome ideas, we’ll do some troubleshooting, and if it’s super legit then we’ll add it to our official list of Tips & Scripts (and who knows, maybe there will be some free swag in it for you, I dunno). Make Converting Quick and Painless with Pre-populated Landing Page Forms Imagine for a second that your ideal customer has just opened up the latest email from your company. The email hits all their pain points and you’ve convinced them to click that all important click-through button. From there, the landing page they end up on is not only personalized (addressing them by name), but the contact form already contains their information. [How-to] Dynamically Swap an Embedded Video with URL Parameters

Videos can be a big part of any marketing campaign. When used correctly they are a great way to give your potential lead some more information on why they should convert. So what if you have a few different videos that you want to use depending on the audience you are targeting? What if you have A LOT of videos that you want to use? I guess you’ll need to create a landing page for each one……. Now you can dynamically change the videos with URL parameters! Using the this script you can use a URL parameter of “src” to change the embedded video on any of your pages. [Tips & Scripts] Floating Inline Field Labels

Inline labels (labels that are displayed inside the actual form field) are great for a number of reasons, particularly because they save space and create a much cleaner design experience, which is a must in the ever-growing world of mobile devices. However there is a downside; they disappear when you start typing, which can result in the loss of context. This might not be a huge problem when it comes to simple information or you only have one or two fields, like your name or email address, but as soon as you add more fields where different type of data is needed, inline labels become problematic. Variable text size in Editor

Hi! I was wondering why this isn’t available. And after making sure it’s not a bug, I think this needs to be considered. The text editor does not seem to give us the option to input a text size, and rather gives us pre-defined sizes (as seen in the attached screenshot) Would love if I could have the option to enter my own text size.

[Tips & Scripts] Customized 404 redirect with Unbounce

Ugh. We’ve all been here (and, it’s the worst):  A 404 error means “not found”. This usually happens for one of three reasons: The user mistypes or misspells the web address The web page is deleted The web address has changed (or the page content has moved) The problem is that the standard 404 page is ugly and unhelpful: It’s really easy to create a custom 404 page using Unbounce - all you do is create the page in Unbounce (as usual) using the path /404/ of your website’s domain: Step 1: Create a new page in Unbounce that you’ll use as your 404 page Step 2: Save and publish your page Step 3: Change the URL of the page to /404/ Should you customize your 404 error page?  If you’re in the business of delight, the answer is almost definitely. Moving away from the status quo (ie the typical page above), means it’s possible to create a more bearable user experience  (and possibly even delightful visitors). Here’s a super quick tip to activate one of Unbounce’ most top secret features… Hyperspace Republishing Long gone are the days of watching the standard publishing screen. Instead, you’ll be transported to another dimension each and every time you publish your page. Instructions: Step 1. From your ‘All Pages View’, click Settings Step 2. Click on Labs Features Step 3. Change hidden form field value based on user selection in another field

We have a form that uses javasript (which I believe we got from Unbounce) to change user-friendly city names in a form field to our city IDs before passing the data to our CRM. How to Segment Mobile/Desktop Visitors in Google Analytics

However if you continually check and observe the difference in behaviour between your mobile/desktop traffic it can be useful to take advantage of Segments/Filters to isolate the data across your reports.
