And, finding a single page to duplicate, replicate or optimize can sometimes be like finding a needle in a haystack. Can I collect passwords & other sensitive information in Unbounce?

Of course you can collect passwords and other sensitive information in Unbounce… but should you? The answer is no. Definitely not. TL;DR: Unbounce forms are not encrypted, so don’t use them to collect personal information. Data collected online is the sole responsibility of the collector who is bound by relevant, applicable laws that are different depending on your municipality. While Unbounce supports SSL (secure sockets layer), Unbounce forms are not encrypted. In other words, SSL establishes an encrypted link between server and client so that information passed from your landing page to our servers can’t be intercepted. Once your data arrives to the Unbounce server, you (and other users in your Unbounce account) can go in, view it and download it. Of course, here at Unbounce, we can’t stop you from collecting sensitive data on your landing pages but you should know that there are rules in play - and they’re different depending on where you live - countries and even states have their

Introducing UnbounceÕs ÒDejargonatorÓ

Amazing_._ Awesome. Great. Very. Best. Cutting edge. Leading. Worldclass. What do these hype words have in common? They all are meant to instill confidence, trust and positivity. But guess what? They don’t. They lack specificity and don’t drive home any message. These words are superlatives; they’re meaningless, empty and devoid of real thought and they all fall into the lazy marketer’s jargon.  They aren’t persuasive and their unique value proposition is a blur. In reality, jargon make people ask more questions than they answer. And the worst part? Many of us use and abuse these jargon-y words every day. [Enter the Unbounce Dejargonator] ta-dah! During a recent Unbounce ShipIt Day, a handful of Unbouncers put their heads together and built a handy Chrome extension that audits any web page for meaningless jargon. It’s helpful. And, it’s also pretty fun to use. Run the Dejargonator on any webpage to reveal any lazy marketer’s jargon - the offending language is highlighted in red.

[Tips & Scripts] Customized 404 redirect with Unbounce

Ugh. We’ve all been here (and, it’s the worst):  A 404 error means “not found”. This usually happens for one of three reasons: The user mistypes or misspells the web address The web page is deleted The web address has changed (or the page content has moved) The problem is that the standard 404 page is ugly and unhelpful: It’s really easy to create a custom 404 page using Unbounce - all you do is create the page in Unbounce (as usual) using the path /404/ of your website’s domain: Step 1: Create a new page in Unbounce that you’ll use as your 404 page Step 2: Save and publish your page Step 3: Change the URL of the page to /404/ Should you customize your 404 error page?  If you’re in the business of delight, the answer is almost definitely. Moving away from the status quo (ie the typical page above), means it’s possible to create a more bearable user experience  (and possibly even delightful visitors).
