@claudias @mccamon Sorry, this one’s on us – we made a behind-the-scenes change a few days ago that is causing the errors you’re seeing. We’re testing a fix at the moment and are aiming to have that in place tomorrow. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. I’ll update this thread when the fix has been released.

Ubpv cookie disappears

@er0sion Based on what you’ve said, I don’t think the ubtv cookie will be useful to you here. It’s used to facilitate external conversion tracking (which is why it’s scoped to your root domain, not your Unbounce subdomain) and it doesn’t contain the page ID or variant. One suggestion would be to use JavaScript on your landing pages to set a custom cookie, scoped to your root domain, containing the data you need to submit the lead. The page and variant IDs are available through the window.ub.page JS object.

Ubpv cookie disappears

Hi @er0sion, I’m a software developer here at Unbounce. I think you might be running into a subdomain issue here. The ubpv cookie will be scoped to the subdomain that your landing page is on. So if your landing page is on try.yoursite.com, it will not be accessible to yoursite.com, www.yoursite.com etc. Could you give us a bit more information about what you’re trying to achieve here? Hopefully someone in the community can suggest an alternative approach that doesn’t depend on this cookie.

No Personal Email Submissions

Hi @Bertus_Schoeman! Thanks for reaching out. I tested this out and I was able to get it working with a lightbox form. First of all, make sure you add the script to the Javascripts section of the lightbox that contains the form. The script won’t work if it’s placed on the main page. Second, make sure you edit the line of the script that starts var field – replace email_address with the actual ID of the form field you wish to add the validation to. Let us know how you get on!

Go To URL not working on form submit

Hi Andreas, The page that the form is trying to redirect to has a ‘X-Frame-Options’ header set to ‘SAMEORIGIN’. This means that page is not allowing itself to be shown inside an IFrame (lightbox) that’s on a different domain. Unfortunately this restriction is enforced at a browser level, so there’s nothing that we can do on our end to fix this. The solution to this would be to have the webmaster of www.sonofatailor.com modify the ‘X-Frame-Options’ header to be something more lenient than ‘SAMEORIGIN’. There’s more information on this here. Pass form values to a url

Hi Ilan, Unfortunately there’s no built-in way to modify the dropdown options to be distinct from the shown labels. However, if you’re comfortable with adding a piece of JavaScript and modifying it slightly, it’s possible! Hi Wilhelm, The script doesn’t alter the tabindex of the fields at all, meaning the tab will go between fields in the same order as it does normally. We don’t have an easy way of changing this Ð but if this is something that’s important to you, you could use jQuery to set the ‘tabindex’ attribute of the fields manually. http://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_global_tabindex.asp Sorry I can’t give you a complete walkthrough here but I hope that helps!

Showing record number on Confirmation Page

Hi Robert, Right now facts like how many leads or conversions a page has gathered are private to your account so there’s no direct way of showing that information to your visitors on the landing page or form confirmation dialog. One thing that springs to mind is that you could use a dynamic hit counter image (remember those?) in a custom HTML widget. If you placed it on only one of your form confirmation dialogs then it would effectively count how many people have completed that form to date. http://hit-counter.info/ http://www.simplehitcounter.com/

Hi Alberto, sorry for the delay. We don’t have a feature for exporting reports per sŽ, but one option would be to add your client as a read-only viewer on their client within your account. This would allow them to view their pages, see how they are performing and also see the leads that they are generating. Hi Alberto, Typically our customers use Google Analytics, as this is a great way of accessing detailed reports on how your landing pages are performing over time. Can I disable a javascript for the mobile version of a landing page?

Hi Jeff, There’s no great way of doing this, but here’s something to try: if ( $(window).width() <= 600 ) { // Your mobile code goes here }else{ // Your desktop code goes here } </script>``` Whether this will work for you will depend on exactly how your script works. If it's some code on the page that you can drop into the 'Your desktop code goes here' section, great! But if it's a script tag that's used to run code from an external source you're out of luck. ARVO Font Change Across ALL Landing Pages?

We’ve already replied to Andy in a ticket but I wanted to post the explanation here for the benefit of the community, too. Sorry you’ve been experiencing issues with fonts being bolder than they used to be. This is related to a change we made to how bold fonts render on your landing pages. There’s a technical explanation that I’ll get to in a moment, but for now, you have two options to get your pages looking right again: Remove the bold effect from your text Ð which will cause it to look like it did before. You can change a header to a non-bold font by changing its paragraph format from ‘Header 1’ to ‘Normal’.  Make your text boxes bigger to accommodate the wider, bolder text. As with anything, please be sure to preview your page before you publish it. Now for the technical explanation of what’s going on here: Up until now, when you made a Google font like Arvo **bold**, we didn’t actually include the bold version of that font. On some devices I see an old version of my site. Why?

Hi Jared, I’m also seeing differences between the headline in different browsers. However, that seems to be because you’re using Optimizely to A/B test different parts of the page. Can you try temporarily removing the Optimizely script, republishing the page and seeing if you still get different versions of the page in different browsers? Thanks!

Binding External Conversion Tracking to Scroll Event

Hi Phillip, Unfortunately the external tracking script is only designed to be placed on a page and then run when that page is loaded. There’s no way that I can think of to get the script to send the conversion later, when an event is fired, that I can think of. I tested a few things and couldn’t get the anything to work along those lines. You definitely have an interesting use case though Ð I’ll pass that along to our product team to take into consideration for future improvements to the external conversion tracking script.

Capture a lead's device for mobile landing pages

Hi Mark, and anyone else reading this Ð We’re not exactly sure what happened to Carl’s script, but try this: https://gist.github.com/markwainwrigh… It’ll place the lead’s user-agent string in a hidden field. This string gives you information on what browser and operating system the visitor is using, as well as the version of each.

Disabled visited Hyperlink text/link color

Hi Debbie, You can customize the colour of visited links for browsers that support this using a few lines of CSS. Just paste this onto your page as a Stylesheet and just replace ‘red’ with the colour name or hex value you want: a:visited { <br /> color: red !important; <br /> } <br /> </style>``` I hope that helps!

Hi Michael, It looks like you’re using an older script that was developed way before Unbounce supported mobile responsive layouts. If you switch to this version - https://getsatisfaction.com/unbounce/… - you’ll be able to get a horizontal form layout on desktop that reverts to the vertical orientation on mobile. Hope that helps!

Pre-filling Form with URL Parameters doesn't always work

Hi Phillip, We’ve already gone over some of this in a support ticket, but hopefully I can clarify a little and share with other customers wondering about similar issues. It’s extremely unlikely that this is caused by users having JavaScript disabled Ð because if they did, they wouldn’t be able to submit the form at all. Also, the version of jQuery that we use supports browsers going back quite a while, so I’d be surprised if it was a browser support issue. Browser extensions are my best guess, but we don’t really have any way of knowing for sure. I looked into it and I can’t find a way that you can stop your users’ 1Password, Lastpass etc extensions from filling out certain fields. Again, I don’t know for sure whether this was the cause of the issue though. And, for context, this happened twice out of hundreds of leads Ð it’s definitely an isolated issue. If anyone wants to chime in with any thoughts, that would be great!

My page load times are extremely slow. How can I optimize them?

Hi folks, As Corey asked, I’d really like to find out a bit more about how you’re observing these slow page load times. Our developers have put a lot of work into our page server infrastructure to ensure that page load times are lightning-fast. For one thing, we serve pages from four geographical locations around the world and use latency-based routing to pick between them.
