IP address collection

Forum|alt.badge.img

Are there any third party services that we can use to collect IP address for people that went to my landing pages and left before completing a form submission?

Hey there @MHowell,

Thanks for posting in the Unbounce Community.

Whilst I’m not aware of any 3rd party tool that provides that kind of service, you should be able to capture visitors’ IP addresses using some Javascript on the page. I found this example online. Do Google Analytics not also capture the IP address nowadays?

One thing I would like to point out is that I’m not sure if this is GDPR compliant - you might need the visitor to opt in before capturing the IP address.

Hope this helps - let me know if you have any questions.

Yes, third-party services can help collect IP addresses for visitors who leave your landing pages before submitting a form. Leadfeeder, for example, tracks visitor activity and provides details like the IP address, while tools like Clearbit or Hotjar can enrich this data or provide insights into user behavior. These services allow you to understand which visitors are leaving without completing the form, although it’s important to ensure you comply with privacy regulations like GDPR when collecting this information.
