SSL certification

Depending who the target audience is (especially information security clients) people don’t like to submit forms and information if they know it’s not secure. So SSL would have instil confidence in people sharing information and followinth thru on Landing Pages

  1. We need extended validation, so we get the green address bar. Considering I’m paying $600 a year extra for essentially just the SSL by upgrading to a pro plan vs the basic one which was just fine for me, this isn’t too much to ask.
  2. Automatic server side redirects to https if someone visits the http url for any reason.

Good news, everyone!

SSL has finally been released for all PRO99 plans and up. Check out the release thread here:
/topics/new-feature-ssl-is-here

Thanks for your continued support for this feature!

Can I get on the beta for this?

@craig I missed your comment as well, sorry about that. A Facebook app is not something we have created yet, but it is certainly a good idea. We’ve tested our SSL solution with the custom tab apps that you mentioned, but I understand the issues of speed.

As for your question about allowing customers to use their own certs Ñ Paul, our Product Manager, answered that for another customer over here…

Hey sorry to have missed your comment Carlos! If you didn’t see it already, check out Paul Doerfling’s update about SSL over here: /topics/feature-update-ssl-is-almost-ready-for-launch

We’re under a month away from launching it, and when we do, as long as you’re on a $99 or higher plan you will be able to use “https” for any of your published URLs without changing anything. No setup required.

Hope that helps!

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to give you all a quick update and let you know that  SSL is on the way;  and it’s actually a lot closer than you might think! Paul Doerfling, a Product Manager here at Unbounce, just released a quick SSL update in the Community detailing our final timeline for launch (spoiler: it’s soon), as well as a few tidbits about what to expect when it’s live.

Go check out update and share your thoughts/feedback here.

Hi Carter, we are developing and e-commerce based in landing pages , we need Https.
Its possible to get your support for implementation?

You can see and example in my default client, landing E-commerce

Amanda,
We’re not adding any more accounts to the beta test for now, but don’t worry - we’ll be launching SSL to the world  very soon _!  _Stay tuned for an update from our Product Team. 🙂

How do we get in on the beta?!

really, so that will be the only way?  Seems silly to double up is all, when I will own a Cert for my domain, and the unbounce is just sub-domains, so it will be covered.
Other than this, we really don’t need the $99 plan, and the extra wouldn’t be worth it I think, handy to have facebook landing pages mind… so is that just “coming” too?
With HTTPS, will you create a simple Facebook app, or will we have to use an iframe app like woobox custom tab?
If it also included a super fast Facebook app, I would consider it more… the custom tab apps are notoriously slow.

Hey Craig, if your sole intention is to use this SSL cert with Unbounce pages then you’re in luck and you won’t need to buy anything! As long as you’re on a $99 plan or higher, we will take care of issuing the certificate and everything for all of your domains at no extra cost. We’ve tried to make things as simple as possible so that you don’t even need to think about it, “https://” will just work on all of your published pages.

Thanks for the quick reply Justin.
So I am about to buy an SSL certificate, which is why I was searching for this.  Any ideas on what type of Cert is best to work with UnBounce?
Eg. Domain Wildcard? EV Wildcard?
I am considering GeoTrust Business ID w EV https://www.geotrust.com/ssl/compare-ssl-certificates.html
I can add a few domains to it, so I was thinking I could add the unBounce domains easily.
Do you recommend/ have working better with certain providers?
Thanks

Hey Craig!

Great question. At the moment our SSL feature is still in Beta being tested by a limited number of users. The reason that our documentation for the feature is live is because we’re fairly close to releasing it publicly, but we’re still working out some things on the back end. We’ve picked some accounts that cover a bunch of different use case scenarios, but also have pages that we know for sure won’t run into any show stopping issues, and we’re delivering those pages via SSL and monitoring them now. Once we’re confident that there won’t be any major problems for anyone else, we’ll open up the feature publicly. I’ll work on getting an official update on the Community ASAP.

Hi All,
So I am a bit unsure now, how does this work?  This thread suggests that even 2 months ago, SSL was not possible.
However, there is documentation, that suggests there is some support for it?
http://documentation.unbounce.com/hc/en-us/articles/204172414?_ga=1.247451404.926410439.1429179776

So, what gives? I don’t get it?
Please is there, is there not support?

Thanks

C

Any reason why you can’t just get a certificate on unbouncepages.com and we use that domain when creating FB pages instead of our cname domain? It’s not like anyone is going to see the URL within the FB wrapper.

Hello Paul,
is it possible to get part of the beta testing group?
We have realy a need for https pages, because we working as an agency and loose customers right now if we can not provode them ssl pages.

best regards
Wilhelm

Hello Paul, I’m in the midst of my unbounce trial right now, and having https supported is really critical, because our web site serves families with kids.  I’d be AMPED to help with the beta testing, please advise?

Thanks for the detailed reply, Paul. It might hit us just in time to get a linkedin campaign going…

Hi Bjoern,

We have been working on this feature and we expect it to go into beta testing by the end of January.

For those who might not be familiar with our beta testing, it means that we will release the feature to a small number of customer to test and make sure that we’ve worked out all the kinks before making it generally available.

This generally takes a a few weeks. I am loath to promise an exact delivery date because if testing or customer feedback reveals that we need to do additional development, it can push back the release date. We only release a feature when it works.

Since this comment is a few months old by now: What is the expected ETA at the moment?

" I don’t have a delivery date at this time but it is coming in the near future. "

Ok, so the usual BS then.

That’s like the standard unbounce response for pretty much everything on here.

It’s why I left.

The only reason I’ve seen this is because for some reason I’m still subscribed to thread alerts.

Unbounce are a joke haha. Or you’re VERY short on resources and funds.

Instapage.com is a LOT better than this shower!!

Hi Tammy,

Our development team is working on implementing a new SSL solution right now. I don’t have a delivery date at this time but it is coming in the near future. I will update this thread as more information becomes available.

Thanks!

I really need to collect cc info and send to Salesforce but can’t without SSL page. I have been pushing that for over 1 year expecting you guys to release it soon. Any news on that? Thanks

Hey there Ñ the team in charge for SSL is just rolling out some improvements to Spam blocking this week. If all goes well, we’ll be digging back into SSL which had been put on hold to address this growing problem.

Any update on SSL capability?
