How do I make my landing page do these things?
Expand to reach the edges of a browser (my current version has gray filler around it)
I’ve tried my hand at expanding the main content’s width to reach the edge of the browser, but I lose “centering” in the process

Now, how about doing the same, but for the bottom section stretching the background to the bottom page edge?

If you select the section of the page you want to stretch to the full width (you’ll see the page section highlighted by a dashed line when selected) - then you can click the stretch option on the right-hand side panel as hown in this image:
