Form Redirect Based on Dropdown Field Value

Hi @Matt_Dimock, Not exactly sure where your issue lies, but some suggestions to help you on your way. Perhaps there is more to this code than I can see, but you seem to be using jQuery for no reason - if it is required check that it is being loaded in the head of the page. You’re relying on hooking into all form submit events and modifying an old UB data structure - why not update to using: //Handles doing something before submit the UB form: window.ub.hooks.beforeFormSubmit.push(function() { // Update the UB form redirect url" window.ub.form.url = "urlGoesHere.com"; }); Now in terms of the actual code logic this could be simplified by the use of a switch case statement. Custom 404 Page Issue

I might be missing something here, but couldn’t you use GTM to poll the url location and manually redirect to a desired 404 page? There would be an extra check needed to ensure that if the 404 page returns a 404 to not loop, but would simply be part of the trigger (i.e pageStatus == 404 & pagePath != “404”).

Gtm.form submit firing when the form has not been submitted

Would tying into the afterFormSubmit ensure validation was successful for this purpose? If so maybe you could push a custom event and use this as your trigger? I may be barking up the wrong tree here but I would try something along the lines of the following: <script> (function() { window.ub.hooks.afterFormSubmit.push(function() { window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || []; window.dataLayer.push({ event: 'ubForm' }) }) })(); </script> And then see if ubForm event is passed in preview only on successful validation or every time.

Direct to variable pages on form submit

No worries, so there is no inbuilt way of doing this without code as far as I’m aware, so this has to get technical. That being said if you want to pursue this route you would need to do the following with the code: So you would add the whole script section into the javascript section of the builder, changing yourFormInput to the exact ID shown for your input element within the interface (if you intend to base location based on a form field I guess this would be your hidden field). You would replace the cases (optionA, optionB) with the values you are checking for, so if your form hidden field was either “red” or “yellow” these case statements would need to match, such as case "red": window.location is essentially redirecting the user to another page, so replace www.example.com/www.example2.com with where you want to send them in each case. The default case acts like a backup, if none of the other cases match then do this redirect instead.

How to send lead info back to Unbounce (for dashboard)in a custom form?

So as far as I know there are two potential options: External Conversion Goal - https://documentation.unbounce.com/hc/en-us/articles/203879180-Setting-Conversion-Goals (this probably doesn’t suit as they would need to then be sent elsewhere to track) I believe there is an ancient post about sending an ajax call which could be done as a success callback from your custom form using jQuery: $.get("clkg/http/"); Here is the thread for No 2: Set Custom HTML Button as Conversion Goal I’d certainly be interested in any more up to date methods personally 🙂

SRC Swap Optimisation

So as an update in case anyone tries something similar, those size parameters of the urls don’t exist when the page is live, only in preview it seems. Ultimately I relied on a slow fade in animation to help cover the slow transition as best I could but have found the image quality on the live version degrades after swapping the SRC even though the quality remains fine during preview. @UnbounceTechTeam could you spare any insight on this? 🤞

I’d love to see some technical discussion around the current framework of Unbounce, for example: working with Javascript within the platform there is so many “gotcha’s” and oddities around the data structure and inner workings. Having some clear and up to date information/discussion about this would be highly beneficial in terms of encouraging the technical side of the community in my opinion.

There use to be a structure for this within window.module.lp.form - but that structure seems to have disappeared. Perhaps the window.ub.hooks.afterFormSubmit would now be the best place to update this? Change/Append to UTM

Okay, fair enough. What about setting a custom dimension in GA to indicate the most recent variant they converted from? This way you could build a custom report or use secondary dimensions to segment users beyond just session landing page. Either way, yes, both could be achieved via javascript on the page, but it would depend on your analytics setup (gtag or analytics.js) and your confidence in editing the GA tracker object (Developer Territory Warning). Hey @Jibla, A very nice page with good information on it (I love the inbuilt calculator)! Beyond @Jess’s feedback, there are a few few things that come to mind, some of which may already be implemented in a live version, but here goes: Sticky Header - It’s a big page and having some form of sticky CTA will help users convert however deep they are. Details on the How - When it comes to topics like this the HOW is so important, does being provided with a laptop just cause these kids to become targets for crime in their area for example. Explaining how you have thought about and predicted such issues can go a long way in instilling confidence. Collapsible Section - You’ve got a lot of information on there already, but you may consider using an accordion to get the above data in without extending the page length too much - you can find some great scripts on these forums for doing as such. Typos - Just a general content check make sure the language is clear, smooth and professional.

Change/Append to UTM

Hi @P_Fonseca1, In your case replacement should work fine, you would want to just grab the original utm_campaign value as a variable and add the variant letter, then you would replace the utmCampaign field in google analytics with this variable. This could all be achieved with GTM by: Storing the utm_campaign as a variable (Query parameter). Running a Custom Javascript variable that takes the value of the above and appends the variant letter. Using a fields to set on a GA event triggered by Unbounce form submission that sets the value of campaignName to the value returned by you custom javascript variable. I would however question whether this is truly the best way to go about getting the data you are after, why not have two campaigns each with their landing page set to the appropriate variant? Anyway, I presume you have your reasons, but if you go down the data manipulation route, be sure to test thoroughly before messing around with your campaign attributions.

Conditional Form Logic To Exclude Leads

Hey Alexidad, That script requires a value being passed, a radio button only has a state to check against rather than the value you are looking for. You will need to tweak exactly when you want to fire the following code, but it checks against whether the required radio button’s state is checked or not and changes the redirect accordingly and updates whenever this radio button changes. You will need to account for whether the user can avoid using the radio button at all and what the default form confirmation is too. Minimum chatacters on text field of form

Hey, glad you found a solution! How well did this work with the native unbounce form validation? I wondered whether this was smart enough to properly inform a user without a created rule. For example, if a user’s input is less than 140 does it show an error or warning on the input explaining the issue? Or does it silently fail on form submit? You’ve peaked my curiosity 🙂

One thing we’ve used before is creating a text box element beside the form that is initially hidden. When the user gets focus on the input field we show the text box saying "Pease note this is for business’s only no personal loans… " etc and hiding the text box either once they move onto another field or only once the criteria has been fulfilled. This of course doesn’t stop a user from submitting the form with a below the required length answer. Honestly I think your best approach would be looking at some of the Unbounce Form Validation scripts that are out there. For example: Adding custom validation to form fields

Hey, what are you wanting to happen if the characters on that field are less than 140 characters? Unbounce form validation isn’t my forte, but you could check the length of the field with the following: var textInput = document.getElementById("yourInputID").value; if(textInput.length < 140){ //Thing to happen code goes here: console.log("Text input less than 140"); } else { console.log("Text input not less than 140"); } You would then also have to decide when you want this to trigger. When they try to submit the form? When then leave the input field?

The console logs give an idea of what case statement has evaluated as true, additionally it logs the day and time variables so that you can see if something doesn’t match up to your statement. For example running the if statements in the console right now I get: Case A {Day: 5, Time: 1538} Meaning the first if statement evaluated as expected during the current timeframe, meaning chat should be hidden and form & text should be showing.

Hey in which case statement are you having the issue? You will want to create a time variable if you are dealing with hours and minutes still in the same way. No worries, I hope that gets you on the right track! It can often be helpful to place a console.log() statement at the start of each if/else statement to check whether you’re getting the result you expected if you still find you’re having issues.

I think you are mis-using the getUTCHHours() it returns just the current hour, not minutes. So 13:30 would actually return as 13. As such the statement (>= 1330) wouldn’t ever be returned as true. I would also tend to steer away from so many else if’s and instead use a switch/case statement but perhaps this isn’t the best solution for your setup.
