Low email campaign clickthroughs vs. high landing page visits

Hey.
just finished analysing a small email campaign (~400 users) in which the main CTA link was unbounce landing pages. While we witnessed avg. open and clickthrough rates (and numbers), the number of unique visitors was x3 higher than the clickthrough numbers … Did anyone experience a similar situation ?

obviously it might be the case people passed on the email to their friends. but I assume there are other reasons as well.
