I gave Snazzy a go after hearing this. Frankly, I’m surprised at the quality of what it kicks out. Human-level out of the gate? Nothing is. But a set of 80% baked PPC ad copy in a few seconds … yeah, that rocks.

H1 with Dynamic Text Replacement

Hard and fast rule: Only one H1. That’s your headline/thesis statement. Beyond that, keep them in order. They should flow down the page and intuitively with content importance. If you’re getting to H6, you’re pretty deep in there. We rarely get past H4.

@SOS_HOME - That’s where we’ve seen our best results. DTR is great for the user, but good, old-fashioned individual landing pages and SKAGs has driven QS most consistently. The other plus is in testing and optimization – you have more wiggle room with your variants.

Making landing pages pop using moving images

To @Hristian’s point, they’ve done a really clever job of getting the animation in there. The videos are below the fold on desktop, and are loading only when accessed via scroll. In addition, they’re loading using play buttons (for me, at least) on mobile. (What’s interesting, too, is that monday.com is actually quite slow if you were to look only at Google-provided metrics: https://lighthouse-dot-webdotdevsite.appspot.com//lh/html?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmonday.com. Lighthouse is pinging them for a bunch of unused JavaScript. Do they care? Probably not – it’s freakin’ Monday. They can do what they want. But if I saw that Performance score on a site/page with any SEO implications, I’d be quite concerned. The page is functionally quite fast to humans, but the robots don’t necessarily see it that way.)

Have you tried creating/submitting an XML sitemap that includes the Unbounce pages? That will cue Google into the fact that they exist.

@elenio - First off, “GDPRy” is one of my favorite expressions now. What I’d do, I think, is add an opt-in field to your Unbounce form. Then you could use Zapier – not the native integration – to hook the systems up. Zapier allows for conditional logic (e.g., “only continue if”). That would let you block the user from Klaviyo if they didn’t check the box. Alternatively, you could send them to a “quarantine” list within Klaviyo that triggers a double opt-in email (e.g., “click here to opt in,” then use an automation to add them to your mailing list upon a click. A period culling of the quarantine list would keep your Klaviyo nice and clean.

Woocomerce Integration

All depends on how tight you want the integration to be, and what you want to do with it. Zapier, for instance, can create a WooCommerce order based on an Unbounce form completion. Conversely, you could simply use Unbounce as your CRO-focused front end and pass the user into WordPress for the eCommerce portion.

Weird Icon on Landing Page only visible for some people

I hit the same issue yesterday. It appears to be a left separator/delimiter in a font (or browser) that doesn’t support it. Ours were on line breaks; we eliminated them by replace them with /br in the code view. We hit the issue with Chrome on Windows FWIW. Mac rendered perfectly. There’s further discussion here. Looks like it could be an invisible character in your case.

How to allow a user to fill out a form only once?

It wouldn’t prevent the fillout, but it would allow you to easily “check the uniques” without getting complicated. We very rarely use the Unbounce lead database as a system of record; rather, we instantly send every lead to a system purpose-built for data storage and analysis.

If it’s me, I’d handle this externally. The formulas available in Google Sheets or Airtable (both of which can easily accept leads from Unbounce) will let you de-dupe, count, divide … whatever you need. No custom code required &#x1f642;

@Luxqs - What’s the broader use case? The Unbounce “database” is of relatively limited value for things like that. We typically do our work work elsewhere – say, zapping leads to Airtable. Unbounce builds a dirty database. That’s not a pejorative, but it’s more of a source of data than a place to manipulate and use it.

What is the best way to share a landing page internally prior to publishing? Or even after publishing without messing up the numbers?

25-person agency here, with 5-6 folks involved in each build, plus clients. Agreed on duplicating the page – only way to do it post-launch. If I’m sharing with with a client early on, I launch it at unbouncepages.com/whatever, then nuke the stats before pushing live at the right domain.

I think what @Kyle.Carline is saying is to absolutely force the issue. Use a form on the page that redirects to another page with the content itself. That second page – you can use whatever random URL you want so it can’t be guessed – would be noindexed, and would be the only place that content exists. Beyond that, you’re getting into role-based permissions, which aren’t really part of the Unbounce ecosystem. Certainly possible, but much more involved – almost akin to eCommerce.

We’ve done this before at Altitude. It’s effective from a CRO standpoint, and – maybe more important – bomb-proof on the technical side. Nothing to break = nothing will break.

They’d be able to close the popup. However, it’s subtle enough that we typically see folks fill it out. The most bullet-proof scenario is to use the popup to “prompt” the user to fill out the form on a landing page that gates the relevant content anyway. Then use a confirmation page that gives them what they want. They wouldn’t be able to see what you want to hide without entering some info.

Hey @Richard_McDonald - You could definitely use an Unbounce popup to make that happen. Typically, we’d go with a popup over a page with the same offer, and the resulting content on a confirmation page. Gives another opportunity to “sell” what you’re offering, and creates a friendlier UX.

@SOS_HOME - Yes! There is a checkbox in page details to hide your content from search engines. Note that this is simply a request to Google, Bing, etc. It’s not perfect, but it’s darn close.

@Jasiya - Jess is correct below. What we do, however, is try to keep to Google Fonts at the design phase. Significant time-saver during setup and more stable over time. Small compromises during conceptualization yield big benefits down the line.

Is an eCommerce using only Unbounce possible?

tala.digital: I’m looking to get all possible opinions from you guys, don’t be afraid &#x1f642; @tala.digital - FWIW, you wouldn’t be able to do it entirely in Unbounce. eComm gets pretty complex, and out-of-the-box solutions are your friend. (Noting you don’t already know &#x1f642;.) You’d still need a payment gateway, order management, etc., and cobbling that together would suck. The Shopifys of the world are built for that – turnkey. Now, Unbounce can be a tremendous front end for eCommerce, particularly on the CRO side. I’d much rather point my ads to an Unbounce landing page with Smart Traffic turned on than a basic Shopify page. But I wouldn’t build an entire store there, even if you could. Wouldn’t be expandable in any way.
