Would love some feedback on the landing page we created for our upcoming iPad app: http://app.ibriteapp.com/ibrite-ipad-…

tks in advance - obviously once the app is live we’ll have a “download” button 😃

Hi Jen,

Love your landing page, and we’d be happy to provide you with a critique. It might even be fun to take our feedback and wrap it into an A/B test - as long as our advice helps that is 😉

I’ll check back in with some more detailed feedback for you.

Cheers

Oli

Hi again Jen,

My initial reaction to the page was twofold:

  1. It looks great and is clearly advertising an app for an Apple product.

  2. I don’t know what an iBrite or Brite Lite is and there is nothing really answering the “what is this?” question for me right off the bat.

And here are a few ideas I had that might help your page a little:

  1. Try to communicate a little more what the app does or how it’s used.

  2. Change the button text to be more in line with what will happen when you’ve clicked it - such as “Notify Me”

  3. I would explore encapsulating the lead gen form (which I’m assuming is your primary goal) visually to make it stand out from the other elements further down the page. I would also try to balance it vertically with the video.

  4. Try adding a directional cue (such as an arrow) directing people through your intended order of interaction. This might be from the hero shot to the video - then on to the form. Or just directly at the form.

  5. Relegate all secondary content to the footer (perhaps a 3 column layout): reviews, support, become a fan and give them less visual weight that the form treatment.

  6. Add a label near the video explaining what the video is going to show - this lets you describe the product a little more too.

A couple of other things I’d consider would be:

  • Try positioning the video inside an iPad - this would give it a more interactive and device-like feel. I do realize tho that this would make the video smaller and it would then show an iPad within an iPad. Just curious to see how this would play out.

  • Try a version with a full width header background

I hope some of that is useful.

Good luck with your campaign!

Cheers

Oli

Hey Oli - thank you so much for the awesome feedback!!

I made an A/B test based on your notes: http://app.ibriteapp.com/ibrite-ipad-…

Am going to go ahead and create the pages that will go up when the app launches on April 3rd as well.

Thanks again for your help - and let me know what you think of the revised pages 😃 jen

Hey Jen,

LOVE what you’ve done with the big iPad version (with the video inside) - it’s so compelling. And the full width header really makes it zing.

You might still be working on it - but the text at the top is getting lost and would be better if brighter (it may have been the text editor being weird on you).

Super sweet that you embedded the PollDaddy Poll too - that’s a first for us and works great!

Exciting stuff.

yea the polldaddy worked awesome! i tell ya if you guys need someone to shout from the rooftops how awesome y’all are just let me know 😃

on the text issue when i made it light/white/beige it competed with the white text in the logo. not sure what i’m going to do there but i agree it needs addressing!

Jen, you rule!

And yes please - shout it loud and proud 🙂

I know what you mean re: the text - hard to find a happy medium.

Any questions as you progress - just fire away.

Here in Greece it takes ages to load. I do not have this with any other page. I am using a 4Mbps broadband line.

Other than that it is a great one.

Hey Jen - I know I’m late to the party, but when browsing in FF 3.6, I see the edge of the video player controls at the bottom : http://grab.by/3KE7

Thought you’d like to know!

oh thanks bob for letting me know - mac or pc?

I’m on a 27" iMac w/ Snow Leopard
