Hi everyone!

I hope you are well.

In my company we use wordpress as a CRM and Unbounce for Google Adwords landing pages.

We installed a plugin called cookiebot where people can select the choose the options that are tracked (marketing, statistics, etc). You can see it once you open their website https://www.cookiebot.com/en/helpdesk/.

I am looking for something similar for unbounce so we are 100% compliant. I don’t think that only with the sticky bar that is suggested on the GDPR blog post (https://unbounce.com/online-marketing/gdpr-compliant-landing-pages/) we will be fully compliant.

Many thanks for your help!

Ana

I have the same problem as well.

What I am doing is just having the privacy link as well as a mandatory check box that clients have “read and understand their right to privacy laws” in order to submit their information.

From the cookie perspective, I can add in a box but I am not sure if that info gets transferred to unbounce to actually cancel the cookie…

Hey @ikelvinlee!

(welcome to the community!)

Just as a quick disclaimer - I am not a lawyer or a specialist when it comes to GDPR or compliance laws (so please take this with a grain or two of salt) however I can tell you that Unbounce’s cookies do not collect any kind of personally identifiable information from its visitors, which is what keeps us in GPDR’s good books.

I am with you and @anaoliveira 100% that it is a best practice to offer visitors the ability to completely shut down any kind of cookie activity when they land on your pages, however the two cookies that are downloaded into the visitors browsers are to make sure your page metrics remain consistent. One of them keeps track of whether your visitor has landed on that page or not (so return visits don’t contribute to your unique visitors per month number) and then a second one keeps track of the variant they landed on so they don’t see different variants (if you are A/B testing) on return visits.

As I mentioned, these cookies don’t collect any personally identifiable information from the visitors, but there isn’t a way to completely disable them in-app right now.
