I am customizing a template landing page, I want to add a form. However, the form button is faded out and I can’t add it to the page. No idea why, new to this!

Most if not all templates come with a form already on the page - so first port of call is find out if there is one there already. The page builder will only allow for one form per page. More than form on a page creates more friction points and complexity for the user - not great for conversions.
