Trigger a tag in Hotjar when an error message is triggered

I’d love it a certain tag could be associated with a recording on Hotjar when an error message is triggered on a landing-page. Is that feasible?

Can you define what you mean by “an error message”?

I can only think of one kind of error message - failing field validation. 

Taking a quick look at the Hotjar docs it does seem possible, in theory at least, to fire off tagging with a bit of JS. 

Of course, that assumes you can pick up the error message you’ve mentioned.

Yes. I had in mind “failing field validation” when I said “error message”. Do you think that any JS developer could help me with this? Or can you point me at a resource who has already done that int he past?
