QR code use and conversion follow up

#1

Hello,

I would like to use a QR on a print media to promote my landing page. Is it possible to track the trafic and the conversion rate coming from the QR code ?
thanks

Hi Vincent,

Sure is! You just need to ensure that there’s tracking information included in the URL address to which your QR code points.

I use Google Analytics, so this is what I do:

  • Head to Google’s URL Builder (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033867?hl=en) and tag your campaign info. I generally call source “offline”, medium “postcard” (or whatever your item is), and then use campaign content to include “qr_code”. The last part let’s me differentiate origination in case I’m also using a re-direct address on the same offline postcard, brochure, etc.
  • Find a site that creates a QR code. Here’s one that I’ve used: http://www.qrstuff.com/

Hope that helps!

Hi Vincent,

If you’re using GA then this would be the best way to do it. You can then view which source your traffic is coming form on that specific page. If you set up your goals & conversions, you’ll also know which source is performing the best/worst.

Let e know if you need anything else!

Hi Stefano, thanks for the answer. I have set up GA. Shall I set up goals & conversions in unbounce or in GA ? because I would like to have an end-to-end conversion rate (from QR code to form submission). thanks
