when I unmask the image, it has an orange haze over it, why is this?
and I cannot seem to resize it to fill the full width of the page, how do I do that?

Hi there!
This is simply because the image is larger than the margins you currently have.
If you want this to act as a full width image, select the section, and set the background as your image.
