iCarousel horizontal image slider integration?

#1

Has anybody integrated iCarousel or a similar horizontal image slider into unbounce pages? What’s the best route for this? I’m not a .js or css coder, so need some help.

Hi Jason - thanks for getting in touch.

An option of third-party slide show functionality would be Slideshare (http://www.slideshare.net/) which you would be able to include into the scripts of your landing page. First you will need to retrieve the script for their feature and then include it to your Unbounce landing page. Below I have also included a couple of links to the our Unbounce Answer articles regarding how to include custom scripts to your Unbounce page for customized functionalities:

http://support.unbounce.com/entries/5…

http://support.unbounce.com/entries/3…

This method should enable you to implement this feature to your page without having to directly code it yourself.

I hope this is helpful. If you have any further questions or require assistance with this setup process, please feel free to contact us at support@unbounce.com.

Cheers!

Hi Jen,

Thank you for taking the time to write that guide.
I followed it step by step and got it working, so considering I’ve got limited coding experience I’m really happy!

I’ve got a follow up question, regarding a slider. I wonder if you can help?

Is it possible to do a slider but for text rather than images?

So for instance, when the visitor comes on the site they see part of the content, but in order to see the rest of the content they need to click onto the next slide?

If so, would really appreciate guidance on how to get that on my landing page.

Thanks a lot

To clarify what I mean, something like the homepage on this site http://www.patentise.com/

#6

I wish i could say for sure - unfortunately i’m not a techy either. Unbounce support may be able to answer this question - ?

#7

You can do text in a DIV instead of an image. FWIW, I’ve done a lot of customization – and Unbounce has been very helpful on many occasions – but the patentise.com site is custom code that someone paid good money to implement.

Hi Brian. Thank you for your response.

I fully appreciate that patentise.com is a high end site that must have taken many hours to create. Don’t worry, I’m fully aware that I won’t be able to replicate something like that using Unbounce.

It’s probably not the best example to give, but what I was trying to demonstrate by providiing a link to patentise.com was the text slider functionality, similar to that which Jen kindly explained earlier in this thread.

Rather than a slider featuring images, I was wondering if it is possible to create a slider for text. As mentioned above, I have limited coding experience so I might be completely mistaken, but it doesn’t seem a million miles apart from the image slider. I was wondering if perhaps the same code could be utilized but with small revision where necessarily?

You mention I can do text in a DIV instead of an image - sorry for my ignorance but what does this mean and could you kindly explain how it can be done?

Thank you very much

Hey Kbb - Slidedeck have a super customizable slider that should let you create a text slider. You can check 'em out at http://www.slidedeck.com/

Hello,
I followed Jens advice and now have a working slider - however, now my fancybox (which was previously working on the page) doesn’t work. Anyone have any ideas how to fix/troubleshoot this

Hi.
I’m trying to set up the slider from Jen.
But how do I find the img source from an image uploaded to Unbounce image libary?

/Torben

#12

Hi Torben -

To get the img source:

  1. upload and place the image somewehre on your Unbounce page
  2. publish the page
  3. on the published page, right click the image and select “get image URL”
  4. go back and delete the image from your page
  5. the image will now show up in your slider using that URL

Hi Jen,
hmmm, sounds like the SharePoint-way (me-do-not-like) :o)
So far it only show one of the pictures, but no slide between the pictures.
I think I still have a mil or two to run.
Thanks for You quick answer.

You could also upload the images to your own server

#16

Just wanted to add another option here that I found and am pretty happy with.  http://www.cincopa.com/

They have a premium and free version.  Where not a sexy as Jen’s slider or SlideDeck, it worked out really well for someone like me with pretty limited coding experience (and time).

Just gave this a try on a test page and you’re right, very easy! Thanks for sharing this one Matthew.

Just ran into this thread.

We typically have quite a few campaigns in market, this is a great tip for getting campaigns launched quickly.

Thanks Matthew!
