Favicon - please

#1

1: What feature / functionality are you looking for?
Simple Favicon implementation

2: What problem are you trying to solve?
Want to get a Favicon easily added to the page

3: If solved, what value would this provide (ex. increased efficiency, cost savings, etc.)?
Simplicity, speed, increased trust signal.

5: Is this being solved by another workaround or any other tool today?
There is a script workaround, but this is cumbersome - I mean SquareSpace allows you to simply upload a png for the Favicon. Seems obvious to include. Seems strange that it’s not available as standard.

#2

This is an absolute no brainer and should either be available on the page properties tab or when setting up a domain - or both!

#3

The script workaround is quite easy to use and can be added to the script manager so you don’t have to think about it when correctly configured.
But i wouldn’t mind an official way.

If you put this in your script manager you can assign it to as many pages as you like. Just swap out the URL for your favicon link.

thewebsite-you-want-the-favicon-for/favicon.ico

<link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="https://yoursite.com/favicon.ico" />

I appreciate you sharing this, but it’s still a technical workaround, still need to host the ico/png somewhere. I work with a lot of account managers that aren’t technical, and who just need to get a landing page up without any fuss.

Cheers,

Dave
