Does Unbounce compress photos (and lose quality) on upload?

I uploaded some photos to my landing page and the’ve become noticeably pixelated.

Does Unbounce compress photos (at the expense of quality) in its CMS? If so, is there a workaround for this?

The effect is most pronounced on the mobile web version of the page.

Hi @Cezary_Pietrzak,

Unbounce doesn’t compress images when you upload them to the builder.

Most likely, your image problems are due to the fact that mobile devices (iPhones, iPads and some others) use the so called retina displays.
The image needs to have at least 2x more pixels with the same image dimension in order to be displayed without blurring/distorting it.

Here is a link to a good tutorial and a couple of possible solutions on how to approach the problem.

Hey @limetray,

First off, there is really no need for profanity here.

It would be really more productive and beneficial to the whole community if you simply explain what seems to be your issue.

2nd - Since this thread was started last year, Unbounce has introduced numerous improvements around images.

If your image is of poor quality to begin with, I’m afraid there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Last but not least, learning something new shouldn’t be a reason to swear.

Best,
Hristian
