I’m trying to add a click through on an image to a larger image url, but when i do it adds a suffix to the URL resulting in a error 404.
page
www.westsidedistribution.com/t-rex-replicator

the image i want to link to is

http/www.westsidedistribution.com/assets/T-Rex-Replicator-1-840.png

but the click through url ends up as

http://www.westsidedistribution.com/t-rex-replicator/clkn/http/www.westsidedistribution.com/assets/T…

adding the full page url then ‘clkn’ then the target URL.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Andy,

I just tested this & it seems to be working! I clicked on the three images found in “The Ultimate Tape Delay”, “Flexible” and “Authorised UK dealers”. Are they working on your end?

P.S. I noticed in your footer you are linking out to t-rex-effects.com. I typically don’t like to “bleed out” to other pages since our goal is to get them to convert by calling, completing a form, or in your case get the brochure. I like to keep my visitors focused on one thing without giving them the opportunity to bounce out.

If you have any other Qs fire them away! I would be glad to help on both the landing page & PPC side of things 🙂

thanks for your reply Stefano, I actually got it to work by changing my URLs to bitly links, so I’m not sure if it’s a bug in unbounce to do with their click tracking maybe? Either way, got it working now!

Thanks for the advice on the page, I understand what you mean and will probably remove the T-Rex link for this reason (keep things as simple as possible), but i’m also at the behest of the brand and what they want 🙂

Hi Andy,

Glad you got it working.

I hear you! Finding a balance between customer requests &  best practices is often a struggle.

If you ever need anything, feel free to give me a shout!

UPDATE:

We’ve released a new feature into beta that allows you to build/launch your lightboxes directly within the page builder itself. This new release will allow you to add images, videos, forms and even scripts (such as Google Maps) to your lightboxes.

Go check it out and sign up for the beta  here

I am having the same issue. Just tried using a Bitly link and it worked. So this hasn’t been fixed all around.
